How To Make a Hidden XP Account
Step 1:
Find/Create an account that you want to hide. To view existing accounts, or to create a new one,
go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts. If you want to create a new account to hide, select the option that says “Create A New Account”.
Step 2: Edit the registry
Go to Start > Run and type in “regedit” to open up the Windows Registry. Find each of these nested folders:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogo n\SpecialAccounts\UserList.
Step 3: Create a value for the hidden user
Click your right mouse button in the right hand window and select New > DWORD Value. Rename the newly created value to the name of the account that you want to hide.
Step 4: Set the value to hide the user
Using your right mouse button, right click on the user that you just created and select “Modify” from the menu.
Find the “Value data:” option in the window that pops up and set the value to 0 if you want it hidden or 1 if you want it visible.
Step 5: How to access the hidden account
To access the hidden account, either log off of your current account or restart the computer.
At the Windows Login screen, hit Ctrl+Alt+Del twice and a box will pop up where you can type in the hidden account name and password to access it.
